Narrowboat Hadar

NB Hadar is our new boat, replacing the lovely NB Ruby Louise. 

Hadar was  launched in Mid 2007,  after being built by Roger Fuller at Stone, at the request of Keith and Jo Lodge. She is a replica of  a small Northwich Working boat called NB Pisces, which was a Star Class  narrowboat. NB Pisces is still in existence and is moored on the southern section of the Grand Union Canal.

Keith used to work on Pisces, NB Hadar is the culmination of Keith's dream to own a working boat.

Keith and Jo worked Hadar as a coal boat on the canal system until 2016,when the coal finished they continued to sell rag rugs, crochet work, and other boaty bits. Keith and Jo eventually retired to Saltisford Arm in Warwickshire.

At that point, Hadar's hold swapped coal for a giant model railway which Keith built.

Hadar was put up for sale in 2025 when Keith and Jo moved onto land, which is when we purchased her. 

Hadar is a respected boat on the canal system and announces her arrival long before you see her, due to the 1949 National DA2 engine, which, due to exemption by BSS, has no silencers on the exhaust.

She has recently undergone some modifications by DCR Boatbuilding at Brinklow, to extend the saloon and accommodation on board. But we still have plenty of hold left for her return to trading, selling our hand painted traditional canal ware  and other boat related bits and pieces, which is the only way forward for this popular replica working narrowboat.
